French Vocabulary for the Internet and Programming
Submitted by Willy Smith on 1 February, 2004 - 21:51.
As you may or may not know, the French prefer to use their own vocabulary rather than borrow foreign words. In fact, there is even an official body, l'Academie Française, which is charged with the task of keeping unnecessary foreign words from becoming common usage in French. This document is a PDF of most common terms in use for the Internet and data processing, with many of the English equivalents listed. Download it here (144k).
