Is this site anti-government?

In a word, no. We will publish some articles from some people who want to change the status quo, in the hopes that it will make people think. We will also publish some articles which we do not agree with but which may contain interesting ideas which are germane to the ideas of Linux and/or FLOSS and what's happening in society because of them.

I personally do not advocate any kind of lawlessness or violence. I may report on things which are illegal because they are directly related to the changes in our cultures being fostered by the Internet. A good example of this is file sharing. As we have mentioned here, there is a US law project that would technically make some 60 million admitted file-sharers felons. I find this ludicrous, and will certainly say so; but that doesn't mean that I advocate breaking the law. I am simply pointing out that there is a huge gap between legality and reality, and that the issue needs more time and perhaps a different approach to be resolved to a societally acceptable solution. Putting 60 million people in jail in the US is just not the answer.

Again, the purpose of this site is to make you think. We live in a time of rapid change, and we need to examine a lot more information than is currently available through the "normal" news media in order to be able to make decisions and adapt to the changes we will probably see within our lifetimes. This is not anti-government, it's part of the process of keeping informed to assure functional democracy.
