SCO Letterhead Affirms - Linux is Evil
Download it here. If this is real, it lays out SCO's position very clearly: Linux and Free Software are Evil and Must Be Destroyed. If these letters were truly written by Daryl McBride, what can we hope to expect? Read them. McBride characterizes Linux as being mostly stolen, and the GPL as being counter to US and European law. Not only that, enforcement of the DMCA will be the savior of the US economy.
Note that this writing goes far beyond SCO's claims in their lawsuit. In these writings, the basic premise of GPL licensing is attacked as being anti-capitalist, a ploy like dumping designed to put the competition out of business.
But the genie is out of the bottle; Linux and FLOSS are not going away even if SCO's suit succeeds. And while calling on Caesar at this point may seem like a good idea to McBride and others, if only to rescue their common stock, the end result will be to isolate them and perhaps even the US from the exciting things which are going on globally with Linux and FLOSS. Let's hope this letter gets laughed off.

Don Lancaster
Don lancaster has been writing for electronics magazines for at least 40 years. His tips and articles tended to be innovative. Sometime in the 1980s he wrote a book called The Incredible Secret Money Machine which was about what he had done to make a living all his life.
While there is a lot of good information in the book, one thing really stuck with me. That was, you should invent something and start selling it, then move on to your next invention. That patenting things is a waste of time and money. Just be creative and while the big guys are trying to figure out how to steal your market, you create something new.
Now, in the case of SCO, they didn't even create what they are selling. Threatening people for having something that is like something they bought years ago that was developed years before sure doesn't sound like good old American ingenuity to me. I am guessing that Japan out-invents the U.S. because they spend more time inventing and less time hiring lawyers.
Oops....
Where?
It was ugly. There were toothpicks everywhere...
