Microsoft Goes Homonymophobic, Goes After 17 Year Old Canadian

Microsoft, in a brilliant move to protect themselves from unfair competition from a boy named Mike Rowe, has asked him to give up his domain name "www.MikeRoweSoft.com". "It's not their name. It's my name. I just think it's kind of funny that they'd go after a 17-year-old," Rowe said.

From the article in The Times of India titled Big Bully Gates Targets Teen: 'Company spokesman Jim Desler said Sunday, "Microsoft has been in communication with Mr. Rowe in a good faith effort to reach a mutually agreeable resolution. And we remain hopeful we can resolve this issue to everyone's satisfaction." From the tone of the English in that statement, we can see that Microsoft feels very threatened by Mike Rowe's enterprise, and they are being very careful to say nothing substantive about the real reaons for the action. And Mike Rowe has yet to learn about multinational corporate humor; Microsoft's lawyers have sent him a one inch think bundle of papers to go through. Since Bill Gates is not known for elaborate pranks involving lawyers, we can only assume he is dead serious.
