I hadn't heard of WIPO, until tonight -- and really, it's due to this 'blog entry that I have heard of it -- though "IP law" has been on the proverbial table, here, as it being "something to dig-in about".

Yet, the very notion of "intellectual property" seems like one of mere "intellectual fancy" -- to me -- and an artefact within the "modern" mythos. The only serious interest that I can conceive, which would occur about "IP law", would be of: (Some) Lawyers and (many) commentators/spectators (of which, I admit, I am one).

I find no cause to acknowledge any presence or semblance of validity about any "IP law", save for: Cause of/for discourse; probability/possibility of annoyance -- political in origin, "judicial" (in lawsuit form) in execution, and bothersome.

Plainly, any "license" is utterly transparent, beside any theories and/or general techniques that may be evidenced of a thing.

I presume, many larger companies have already realized that; I presume, they -- in whatever "corporate" and "legal" offices -- are simply trying to lead the public -- and in particular, "investors" -- to believe as if they, the companies, had any more capital/property than they actually do.

Sometimes, "IP law" seems intriguing, sometimes, vaugely "intimidating", and sometimes, utterly silly; at no time has it seemed greatly substantial, to me. Yet, anyhow, it is really interesting, to see that "the GWB-figureheaded administration" may be affecting the USPTO.

I presume, Mr. Dudas has about four years, left in office. I am not worried about what he will or will not do, of national policy. In regards to the WIPO, the US is but one nation.
