An American Take on eGovernment/eDemocracy

There's a whole lot of buzz about eDemocracy, eGovernment and eToothpicks. OK, not eToothpicks, but you get the point. As usual, the governments of the world are our anchor in the Bell Curve of fashionable titles, so it seems fitting that we have eToothpicks - which, of course, come with instructions.

The world is insane. But we're not. At least I'm not.

But a self-titled eLunatic - or a Raving Lunatic - adds some sanity in his weblog post Don't Cry For Me, America. And the cool thing about the whole thing is that the focus of the whole government/democracy thing is a challenge to the way these things have been handled traditionally.

eGovernment isn't about ePeople; Government is about People. It's that simple. Now and then someone needs to remind people of that, and if it's a self proclaimed Raving Lunatic, then consider it a Voice from the Wilderness.
