Truth In Advertising

Well, for those people who were paying attention - the authorities have finally tackled Microsoft's comparison with GNU/Linyx in their advertising. Specifically, the United Kingdom's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) 'has upheld a series of public complaints over an advert in a magazine comparing the cost of Linux versus Microsoft Windows.'

Oops.

Not that most of us didn't know this earlier this year, but I suppose that the advertising didn't appear in a magazine, and therefore was not under the jurisdiction of the U.K.'s ASA.

But wait? Who is in charge of regulating advertising on the internet?
