You like Apples?

How do you like these Apples?

While it's interesting to consider how GNU/Linux is affecting the hardware market, one problem remains with such comparisons: We're comparing Apples to Penguins. More appropriately, we're comparing hardware to software. Consider Yellow Dog Linux, which runs on Apples.

If we're going to compare operating systems, we should be considering the OS X, GNU/Linux, *BSD and Microsoft's operating systems. But because it's impossible to count systems with these operating systems with any considerable accuracy - including Microsoft's (read: Piracy), the studies are inherently flawed.

So here's Wonko's prediction: People are going to continue erroneously making such analyses because they are analysts, and they can't get the data that they believe their businesses need.

Linux on Mac

Not to mention that there are ports (Debian comes to mind) of Linux to Mac. I'm looking for a laptop and I'm thinking about getting an iBook and tossing Debian Sid on it.
