[US] SCO - The Duck Stops Here

There's something really funny going on with SCO. This is from October 6th, when SGI told the world that they had "conducted an 'exhaustive comparison' of the Linux kernel and the Unix System V source code, which turned up only 'trivial' code segments that 'may arguably be related' to SCO's software. Then there was this article from Linux Today which asks some pointed questions about the recent stock and financial action.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch up in Utah, it's reported that "SCO's filings also assert that 'the GPL violates the U.S. Constitution, together with copyright, antitrust and export control laws.'" And SCO has decided to not go after the little guys running Linux. Gee, thanks; but it's all very strange.

My personal opinion is that Daryl McBride is taking his cues from show business. It's just too much like Britney Spears saying she doesn't dress provocatively, or Kylie Minogue claiming copyright on her butt. It seems to be a species of duck who pours FUD on a fan, and then goes around looking for loose change which has dropped out of peoples' pockets during the subsequent upheaval.

When it's all over, I want to see the movie and all the outtakes.
