the instructors from any part of the world to join in teaching the

include a modest payment to lecturers. AcrossWorld University is an
exploration in global learning and knowledge sharing.
"AcrossWorld has been instrumental in promoting open source software in
developing countries resulting in several initiatives including infoDev
which has made open source as one of its flagship
initiative and infoDev's Open-source Software Toolkit is intended to
'help information technology decision-makers in developing countries
understand the dynamics associated with implementing open source
software solutions'."

I'm not going to comment on why this is interesting, as I think it should be apparent from several different standpoints. But, I will say that it is amazing to me that the World Bank could be involved with something as subversive as FLOSS.
