Many have been experiencing problems due to recent worms. We have been receiving about 100 emails per day, and our webmaster has received over 3,000 of the little guys as of yesterday. But Microsoft has even worse problems. Faced with either shutting down their main site or switching to more robust Linux servers, they decided to bite the bullet and stay up.

The Netcraft page also has a story about SCO still suffering from denial of service attacks; according to Netcraft, "...concievably SCO may have difficulty swallowing its pride and buying a service that uses tens of thousands of Linux servers, for which Akamai presumably has not purchased a SCO licence."

We hope you find this turn of events as amusing. Maybe we should create a new category - "Chessboard - Hubris and Irony".

Yes, that's what you get with akamai. It's a cluster service.
