[US] Arab Engineers Launch Open Source Organization
Submitted by Willy Smith on 25 August, 2003 - 19:40.
Article from EEDesign.com (English)
The site is currently organizing two hardware/software projects, an Arab language PDA and a Bluetooth baseband core. So far, they have developed a processor core and are porting Linux to it. The core can be built with programmable logic devices.
One of the founders, Jamil Khatib, is also a founder of the OpenCores website, which has various projects relating mostly to microprocessor and support function blocks.
The organizers are looking for people anywhere in the world who would like to participate in the projects, and see as their objective helping developing countries to take a greater foothold in the area of technology.

Thanks for pointing to Handasa Arabia in LinuxGazette.
But,
Just a little correction
The processor was designed by opencores.org, and we use a uClinux port.
