WorldWatch RSS News Feed
Apologies for those of you using RSS news feeds. Didn't realize they were broken until I started experimenting with the PyDS news aggregator. Turns out that the article URL's were not implemented correctly.
There was a reader that informed us that the RSS feed was broken and I made a fix to the XML header. That made it appear correct but didn't notice that the URLs being generated didn't really point to the article.
Chalk it up to inexperience but I promise that I'm getting smarter all the time :-) Please send email to webmaster@linuxgazette.com and let me know if your news aggregator has a problem with the XML file.
Please take advantage of the RSS news feed, it's a great way to stay up to date on new articles in WorldWatch. The URL to load into your favorite aggregator is:
http://worldwatch.linuxgazette.com/news.rss
The Webmaster
P.S. Would sure like to see readers more engaged on the site. Willy has been posting some pretty controversial stuff but comments are few and far between. Please let us know what you think about the articles, just spout off, or even write your own article, this site is more than just a fancy news aggregator, it is a great place to discuss linux in the world. Even if all you have is "Right on Willy" or "That was a totally dumb article", we'd like to hear from you!
Pura Vida!
Re: WorldWatch RSS News Feed
You are correct, the XML was invalid. Turns out that using an '&' in the text was bad and makes the XML puke and die. Fixed that problem in the python script so it's back to working again.
Fortunately, I keep playing with different CMS's and news aggregators so I'm seeing the XML fairly often. This should help work out any remaining bugs over the next few days and we'll finally have a stable RSS news feed.
Again, I apologize to the readers who are using news aggregators and have been frustrated by our attempts to supply a working feed. Am fairly new at this webmaster stuff and there's a lot to learn so please bear with us for a while and don't hesitate to let me know via email at webmaster @linuxgazette.com or by posting here.

Re: WorldWatch RSS News Feed
I use straw 0.18.1, It displays fine but the XML validator smilie says it is invalid xml.
