Many years ago I read The Incredible Secret Money Machine by Don Lancaster. Lancaster has written thousands of articles for electronics and computer magazines over the years and sold an assortment of products. In that book he suggested you were always better to get your invention to market and then, while others figure out how to copy it, move on to your next invention rather than attempting to patent it.

I think he is right and it sounds like some people in France feel the same way.
