Download PDF file of paper by Schecter, Greenstadt, and Smith (English)

This paper concludes that efforts by the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance to thwart pirating will actually aid the large existing peer-to-peer networks to become more secure, reliable, and cheaper. It has a brief economic history of piracy to show how the two sides have evolved. Interesting reading, probably not what most music industry executives want to hear. Provides the reader a good contrast of what's going on in the Free Music movement.
