[Poland] Polish Companies Join the Fray, Sue SCO (Updated 12-Jun)

Article from 7thGuard.net (English)

"It's all about the money - says Cezary Cichocki, president of CYBER Service". If SCO does not provide immediate proof within three days of the filing (9-June-2003), its activities will be deemed illegal in Poland. No word yet on the consequences, but all this means that at least in some countires in Europe, SCO will be spending its money defending its position. This is significant because it means that even though the case (if pursued) will not come to trial in the US for perhaps several years, immediate publicity vindicating Linux is highly likely in Europe.

Update 12-June-2003: The deadline has passed today, and the companies are waiting for the post to return the confirmation that SCO has received their ultimatum. Once this has been confirmed (next week), they will then proceed with a lawsuit against SCO.
