Free Wireless Mesh Software Released
The Champaign-Urbana Community Wireless Network has released a first-generation mesh/cloud software package, and is seeking input and development. From this article in WiFi Networking News, Sascha Meinrath says:
'The CUWiN project wants to allow self-forming, noncentralized, mesh-based Wi-Fi networks using standard, old PCs with no configuration. Slightly more advanced units could be ruggedized boxes using Compact Flash, but the basic unit would be a 486 or later PC with a bootable CD-ROM or bootable floppy that bootstraps a CD-ROM. Once booted, a unit finds other similar units without any other configuration or control and forms a mesh.

Hi ;
I've been reading all I can about this project, downloaded the CD's but can't find any way to see if I can get it to work.. Anyone know where I can get some info.. Seems to boot fine, can connect to Com1 but no login, have a router connected to eth0 and a Senao wired Access Point on eth1.. Laptop with a wireless.. but no idea what to do from here..???
