Lindows Loses to Microsoft, Changes Name to Lin---s
Submitted by Willy Smith on 18 February, 2004 - 17:10.
In Belgium, Luxemburg, Holland, and Sweden, Lindows will become Lindash, and their new site will be www.Lin--.com. As this article relates, the correct pronunciation is not "Lin-bleep-bleep" but "Lin-dash"; this probably comes just when you thought you had finally learned the correct way to say "Linux".
As the article also notes, the president of Lindows has a sense of humor; this is becoming more and more necessary in order to live in the asylum without cracking up. As this article points out, things may not be so bad for Lindows in the US, where a judge has decided that as regards the possibility of infringement, the meaning of the word "windows" must be taken in the context of the time when Microsoft first released Windows.
